Headingley to screen Euro 2012 games

HEadingley Carnegie Stadium, more famous for staging international rugby and cricket matches, is now preparing to welcome football fans to its hallowed turf.

The ground on St Michael’s Lane, Headingley, Leeds, is to screen all of England’s Euro 2012 games on a giant screen.

The first screening will take place on the famous Headingley cricket pitch on Monday, June 11, at 5pm, when England take on France, while the rugby pitch will be the venue for a screening of England v Sweden at 7.45pm on Friday, June 15.

The rugby pitch will again be the venue for a screening when England go head to head with Ukraine on Tuesday, June 19, at 7.45pm.

Jacqui Page, sales and marketing manager for the Headingley Experience, who are running the screenings, confirmed that entrance will be free.
