Island venue for Easter pilgrimage
CHRISTIAN pilgrims arrived yesterday at the Northumberland island of Lindisfarne after taking part in the annual Easter trek.
The event saw participants follow a route to the island which took in some early pilgrim pathways.
They will remain on Lindisfarne to celebrate the Easter weekend and plan to decorate the wooden crosses they have carried along the route with flowers gathered from the island in time to celebrate Easter Day tomorrow.
