Leeds venue set to rock again

ONE of the most famous music venues in Leeds has reopened after being taken over by new management.

The Well, formerly known as Joseph’s Well, staged gigs by local and established acts for nearly 20 years before closing in March this year after its owners struggled to turn a profit.

New owner Colgan Machine, which also runs the Duck & Drake in Leeds and Blues Bar in Harrogate, have reopened the bar with live music returning next Saturday.

The Well has hosted leading bands, among them The Killers and Kaiser Chiefs, over the years and is closely-associated with Yorkshire’s punk rock and heavy metal scenes.
