Man charged with three rapes in South Yorkshire

A 40-year-old man was tonight charged with nine offences following his arrest in Doncaster yesterday morning.

Paul Eames from Bentley, has been charged with six sexual offences, including three counts of rape and and one count of attempt rape, threats to kill and two counts of robbery.

He is remanded in custody and will appear at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning.

Two women reported to police that they had been attacked by an unknown man on the Trans Pennine Trail, close to Grove Avenue in Bentley, at around 11.15am yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Hall said: “Specialist officers are continuing to support the two women. I understand the upset and shock this incident will have caused locally and I would reassure people that incidents of this type are extremely rare.”
