Services to mark Potters Bar crash

The 10th anniversary of the Potters Bar rail crash will be marked today by memorial services.

The first will take place at a memorial garden close to the site of the Hertfordshire crash which claimed seven lives.

This first service will include the laying of flowers and a minute’s silence at 12.56pm: the time the London to King’s Lynn train derailed at a faulty set of points.

After that there will be a memorial service in Potters Bar. Six passengers were killed in the crash. The seventh victim was killed by falling debris as she walked close to the station.
