Thousands step out for dance festival

About 2,000 people congregated in Leeds’s Millennium Square yesterday to be part of the climax of this year’s Big Dance Yorkshire celebrations. A mass dance was the finale of the day’s events, featuring acts such as TV’s Got to Dance semi-finalists QMX and Bradford’s BD4 Dance Group. The specially-commissioned Yorkshire Flock mass dance, choreographed by Gary Clarke, was a humorous routine about the country set to jolly brass band music.

Earlier, performers from Yorkshire Dance had shown off Terrarium, a 4.5m metre diameter bubble as part of the cultural Olympiad festival.
