Three in court over resort break-ins

Three Merseyside men will appear before local magistrates today charged with burglary and theft following two break-ins in Scarborough on Monday.

Police were first called to a bungalow in Wheatcroft Avenue by a concerned neighbour at 7.30am and officers found an 81-year-old woman had been pushed over as three men who had been seen earlier fled her home. A patio door was also smashed as one of the men made his escape.

In a second incident that morning, an elderly, disabled woman disturbed three men at the kitchen window of her home in Tricourt. One of them was attempting to get in through the window.
