Tour boost for McFly as drummer wins Strictly

Brit band McFly can expect sell-out performances at their tour next year after taking a second reality TV crown in a month.

The band’s drummer Harry Judd was named winner of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday, beating Chelsee Healey and Jason Donovan in the BBC1 dance contest’s final at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.

His victory comes after McFly bassist Dougie Poynter won ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! at the start of this month.

The band are set to tour the UK in 2012, starting in March, and their popularity can be in no doubt after four additional shows were added to the Up Close And Personal tour on Friday. Tickets for the extra dates, in York, Birmingham, London and Manchester, will go on sale on Wednesday.

Judd, 25, who was the bookies’ runaway favourite to take the Strictly crown, paid tribute to his dance partner Aliona Vilani, who was the runner-up last year. He added: “I have just had the most incredible experience.”
