Tumble for comic in charity challenge

comedian John Bishop got off to a shaky start for his BBC Sport Relief Challenge, falling off his bike just an hour into the gruelling charity triathlon.

The stand-up comic, who is attempting to cycle, row and run 290 miles (467km) from Paris to London in five days, set off from the Eiffel Tower during rush-hour yesterday only to take a tumble on the city’s outskirts at traffic lights. But he continued on the first leg of his challenge – to cycle 185 miles (298km) to the coast in less than 24 hours.

He will then row the Channel while the final stage means three marathons in three days, finishing in Trafalgar Square on Friday. He can be sponsored at sportrelief.com/bishop
