TV’s Lorraine given OBE

TV presenter Lorraine Kelly said she was “thrilled” to be recognised in the New Year Honours list after receiving an OBE for services to charity and the armed forces.

The 52-year-old television star, currently presenting Lorraine on ITV, has been involved with numerous charities including Poppyscotland, Freedom from Fistula, and the Muscle Help Foundation.

Having started her career in local journalism, she moved into broadcasting and rose to become TV-am’s Scotland correspondent before a lengthy career at GMTV.
