Two men in suicide probe met on internet

Two men found dead in a car following their apparent suicide met on the internet, it has emerged.

Craige Harris, 44, was found alongside 40-year-old Naresh Kumar Ahir, from Wolverhampton, in Mr Harris’s Vauxhall Corsa, in an isolated lane near the River Humber.

Home-made signs warned of the presence of chemicals inside, including cyanide.

It has also emerged that Mr Harris, from Cleethorpes, who described himself on an online business website as a photographer, web designer and ICT professional, had been arrested in February in connection with an investigation into the downloading of indecent images of teenagers. He had not been charged.

Mr Ahir, who is believed to be a former teaching assistant, had travelled in recent times to northern Lincolnshire.

Mr Harris had worked as an ICT instructor and had been a member of Cleethorpes Camera Club since 2009, but was not believed to be working at the time of his death.

The two men were found by a jogger last Friday morning who saw them slumped in the Vauxhall Corsa at Booth Nookings Lane, in Winteringham, North Lincolnshire.

The warning signs sparked a full-scale response from the emergency services.

The area had to be cordoned off for public safety and the men’s bodies were removed by a locally-based specialist company enlisted by the coroner.

Humberside Police said yesterday: “Post-mortem examinations were conducted.

“We are now waiting for further results from toxicological reports which will hopefully give us a clearer indication of cause of death.”

In a profile on a business website, Mr Harris wrote about himself: “IT professional who likes to build web pages and advanced amateur photographer.”

An inquest in Cleethorpes has been opened and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
