Two teenagers victims of shooting

Police were called to Tatton Road, Ordsall, Salford, Greater Manchester, at 4.25am yesterday following reports a boy had been shot.

Officers discovered a 17-year-old youth with gunshot wounds to his leg and an 18-year-old, also with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Both were taken to hospital and their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

An area was cordoned off while officers investigated at the scene.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Jon Chadwick said: “Early indications are that this is not a random attack and police are responding accordingly.

“Residents can be assured that every effort will be made to take this weapon and the offenders using it off our streets.”
