Waxworks are given Downton makeover

Hollywood stars have been given the Downton Abbey treatment to mark the hit drama’s return this weekend.

Nicole Kidman and Bruce Willis have been given a period makeover befitting landed gentry by staff at Madame Tussaud’s, in London.

Also featuring in the temporary tableau are Russell Brand, who has been done up as a dandy groom, while Cheryl Cole’s figure has been revamped as a maid in pinny and bonnet.

London mayor Boris Johnson also features in the display, swapping his usual tousled hair for a groomed, slicked-back style.

The attraction confirmed yesterday that Oscar-winning The King’s Speech actor Colin Firth is to be a new addition.

His figure will go on display in December.

The Downton Abbey-style display will be on show until Monday.
