Who’s that girl?:Ex-soap star heads for Tardis
Former Emmerdale actress Jenna-Louise Coleman has been unveiled as Dr Who’s new assistant in the classic BBC series.
Coleman, who played lesbian Jasmine Thomas in the Yorkshire soap, said she was “beyond excited” at landing the role. She will replace Karen Gillan, who plays Amy Pond, and is due to start filming in May before making her first appearance in the Christmas Day special.
