UK player in£26m win on Euromillions

One UK ticket holder scooped the third biggest Euromillions prize in history by winning £26.1m in last night's draw, organisers said.

The win comes after Les and Sam Scadding from South Wales and a syndicate from Liverpool each took home 45.5m jackpots in November last year.

The winning UK tickets has the numbers 11, 26, 29, 49, and 50.

A National Lottery spokeswoman said: “It is fantastic to have another Euromillions winner here in the UK.

“We have plenty of champagne on ice and look forward to welcoming the ticket holder into our millionaires’ club.”

The second-largest prize of 35.4m was won by Angela Kelly, of Glasgow, in August 2007.
