Union accused ofjob scaremongering
Council chiefs in Sheffield hit back last night after GMB union officials claimed the authority was preparing to sack between 650 and 1,500 workers.
But Julie Toner, the council’s director of human resources, dismissed the claims as “scaremongering”.
