Unions call forhigh pay inquiry

Union leaders have called for a high pay commission to investigate "out of control" executive rewards.

The Communication Workers Union general secretary Billy Hayes said the average pay of a FTSE 100 chief executive had increased by almost 300 per cent compared with 44 per cent for employees. He added: “In Royal Mail for example, the ex-chief executive Adam Crozier was paid 2.48m in wages, pension and bonuses last year while delivery staff got 16,238.”
