The Parkinson Building at the University of Leeds was lit up to tie in with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which takes place during October.

It was one of 18 sites in 12 UK towns and cities in the Breast Cancer Campaign initiative. The charity’s chief executive, Baroness Delyth Morgan, said: “We’re thrilled that some of the nation’s most well-known landmarks are joining us in highlighting the importance of breast cancer research.”

The university houses a tissue bank set up by the charity, which is used for research into the disease.
