Unveiling the latest by David Hockney... in pure, new wool (VIDEO)

YORKSHIRE artist David Hockney is having one of his most renowned paintings given a new twist – with wool.

A section of the Hockney's vibrant Going up Garrowby Hill will be recreated in a 10ft by 20ft artwork of 18 separate panels made from dyed wool.

The new take on the famous painting will go on display in the entrance hall of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society's headquarters in Harrogate.

It was the idea of the society's human resources manager, Susan Hibbert, after she joined a felt-making class.

The Bradford-born artist will be invited to see the new artwork once a team of 18 felt makers has completed it later this summer.
