Update: Boy, four, unharmed as his mum and pregnant sister are found dead at Sheffield house

A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy was found unharmed in a South Yorkshire house where his mother and pregnant sister were killed.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the bodies of two women, named locally as 42-year-old Tracey Donnelly and her daughter Louise Donnelly, 23, were found at the property in Ironside Road, Hemsworth, Sheffield, by an adult relative at 7.40am yesterday.

Tracey’s son Daniel, four, was seen being taken from the property by police and paramedics yesterday morning, crying and wrapped in a blanket.

Neighbours say they saw a man fleeing the house at 2am while Daniel was still inside and one reported hearing screams at around midnight but thought the disturbance was local teenagers.

The boy and his mother had lived in the three-bedroomed house for about 18 months and his elder sister Louise, a barmaid, had been staying for the past week.

Louise had told colleagues at the New Inn in Hemsworth that she was 10 or 11 weeks pregnant.

Her boyfriend Ricky Williams, 23, left a tribute to her on his Facebook page, He wrote: “Goodnight babe, love you always. You will always be in my heart. Save me a place up there. I know we will be together again one day.”

Louise’s younger brother Ashley, 19, also left a message in which he simply said: “Rest in peace Mum and Louise.”

Neighbour Tracey Johnson said she though Tracey Donnelly had been having problems with an ex-boyfriend and added: “Another neighbour has told me that at 2am she saw Tracey’s ex-boyfriend run out of the house without any shoes or socks. She thought it was a bit odd but had no idea that there was anything sinister in it.

“I can’t believe this has happened because Tracy and Louise are both lovely people. Daniel was at my house only the other day, playing with my three-year-old daughter. It’s awful for him, he is a lovely cheerful little boy.”

Louise’s boss, landlady Jacqueline Woonton, 50, said: “She found out she was pregnant in January and was coming up for her first scan.

“She was excited - she was happy to be a mum and couldn’t stop telling everyone. She was already buying baby things. She was wonderful with children, and would have made a fantastic mum. She had so much patience with Daniel and with children around the pub. He’s a bubbly little child.

“I feel heartbroken. She was a lovely person and never said anything horrible about anybody.

“I’m distraught. All the staff are heartbroken. We’ve lost a wonderful, kind-natured, lovely young lady, who was well-loved and well-liked around Gleadless and with customers. It’s a waste of life.”

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is detained in custody assisting police with inquiries. Police are unable to comment further at this time with the investigation in its very early stages.”
