Vandals cause ‘horrendous’ damage to skate park
VANDALS have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to a skate park in Wetherby.
Town clerk Barbara Ball said the popular Ings-based park had been left in a “horrendous” state, with the ramp on one piece of equipment being bent out of shape.
She went on: “We have been down to check on it this week and six of us couldn’t move it an inch so I don’t know how they’ve done it. It is not going to be 15 or 16-year-olds who did it as they are not strong enough at that age.”
One local dad, Declan Wilson, said: “As a father of three children who received new scooters for Christmas, we were really disappointed to find that the skate park had been vandalised.”
