VIDEO: Appeal after man threatens Batley taxi driver with knife through his window

Police are investigating after a taxi driver was threatened at knifepoint in West Yorkshire.

This CCTV footage shows a man knocking on the window of a taxi. When the driver lowers it, the suspect pulls out a knife and threatens the driver with it.

The 30-year-old driver reversed away from the suspect, causing him to let go.

The knifeman then fled from the scene towards Batley on foot.

The incident happened in Blakeridge Mill Lane in Batley at about 7.11pm on July 4.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to contact Kirklees Police on 101 referencing crime number 13170305286.

"Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."
