Video: The biggest horse at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show. (It’s 11ft high)

IT WAS a case of little meets large when four-year-old Lauren Batty got a sneak preview of towering sculptures which will feature at next week’s Great Yorkshire Show.

For the second year running, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society has teamed up with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park to bring two iconic artworks to the three-day showpiece event at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, which begins on Tuesday.

The sculptures were lifted into place on the President’s Lawn yesterday and include The Horse is a Noble Animal, an 11ft wooden rocking horse by artist Marcia Farquhar and Sophie Ryder’s Pink Lady Hare Dancing with Big Brown Dog, which features a 7ft hare and dog.

Lauren, whose mother Gail works at the showground, was given a sneak preview of what the visitors will be able to enjoy during the agricultural show.
