Video exclusive: ‘70s penthouse’ Jimmy Savile left behind

His main residence was his Seventies-decorated Leeds penthouse flat overlooking Roundhay Park, which is on the market for £325,000 but needs a complete renovation.

It was his “HQ” when he was alive and the base where he and his friends met for their legendary “Friday Club” meetings.

It famously didn’t have an oven.

As Sir Jimmy would often say, half-jokingly, the reason being was that would mean cooking and only women cooked – so he made do with a microwave and gas hob.

His seaside Scarborough flat at Wessex Court, with a stunning view over the east coastline, is also up for sale for £175,000.

All the homes have been cleared and the memorabilia of a lifetime in show business auctioned off.

Proceeds from the sales will go to the Jimmy Savile Charitable Trust, his own charity set up to help “poorly people in hospital beds”. The Leeds-born star died on October 29 last year, just two days before his 85th birthday.

A recent auction of his possessions raised £300,000 for his charity.
