Video - Father and 11-year-old daughter rescued from stormy seas after dramatic 45 minutes in water shouting for help

The young girl had got into difficulty after being swept out into the sea and her father had gone out to help; however, despite being close inshore, the two had got stuck at the back of breaking surf.

HM Coastguards requested the launch of RNLI inshore and all-weather lifeboats to attend nearby Robin Hood’s Bay, North Yorks., to help the stranded duo. With the help of the coastguard, the inshore lifeboat found the two, who were physically exhausted and struggling to keep their heads above the water.

The inshore boat then headed into deeper water before transferring the father and daughter to the all-weather vessel, where they were checked over by the crew and wrapped in warm blankets.
