It was a sizzling start to The Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show today as crowds flocked to join the fun.
People ate, drank, watched and cooked in the sunshine at the event, which marks the final weekend of the Leeds Food & Drink Festival.
A foodies’ delight, the show is free to the public and sees some of the area’s top chefs cooking up a storm to delight the crowds.
More than 100 exhibitors are showcasing the region’s finest food and drink at the show, which runs until Sunday at Millennium Square in the centre of Leeds.
The event, which is now in its fifth year, includes live cookery demonstrations from local chefs, artisan food specialists exhibiting delicious produce, traditional real ales, Pimms and cocktail bars and some of Yorkshire’s finest restaurants serving their signature dishes.
Saturday’s demonstrations include Italian food with wine matching, cooking curried pancakes, and vegetarian Gujarati food at its best.
On Sunday, TV chef Steph Moon conjures up some of her favourite dishes.
In addition there is the sizzle of street food dishes from around the world, cooked right in front of you.
Entry is free, and attendees have the chance to win afternoon tea for two at Hotel Chocolat. To enter, tweet a food-style self portrait to @yorkshirefood using the hashtag #foodyorkshire any time during the Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show.
