Video: How 400 poppies helped Jean, 83, crochet her way to health
A SOUTH Yorkshire pensioner says crocheting 20 poppies a day is not only raising money for charity but also helping her battle arthritis.
Jean Lister, 83, decided to turn her crochet hooks to making poppies after her granddaughter came up with the idea of setting aside the baby clothes she usually makes to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.
In the build up to Remembrance Sunday, Ms Lister, of Rotherham, has sold more than 400 hand-made poppies in less than a month.
