Video: Injured horse rider airlifted to hospital

A horse rider had to be airlifted to hospital after falling along a bridle path near Shibden Brook.

The Calder Valley Search and Rescue team were sent a urgent call by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Yorkshire Air Ambulance to help with the rescue of the woman on Sunday lunchtime.

The rider had sustained head and ankle injuries from the fall.

Once on the scene, 23 CVSRT members transferred the casualty by stretcher to the helicopter for airlifting to hospital.
