Video: Writing on the wall for graffiti vandals

A CRACKDOWN on graffiti was launched by South Yorkshire Police and Doncaster Council today.

The "Who Did This" campaign, launched at Woodfield Avenue sports area in Balby, features posters of graffiti and asks anyone who recognises the 'tags' to call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

Council and police officers are also set to go into Doncaster's schools to deliver presentations. At present, Doncaster Council spends more than 300,000 each year cleaning up graffiti.

Coun Cynthia Ransome said: "Graffiti causes communities to look and feel run-down and if we can teach youngsters the consequences then they are less likely to get involved in this anti-social activity."
