Views sought on audiology service

A CONSULTATION has been launched on the future of audiology services in Sheffield.

NHS Sheffield is proposing to provide services at health centres across the city rather than in hospitals, meaning patients would no longer have to visit the hospital for routine procedures such as hearing tests and hearing aid repairs.

Colette Longford, who is leading the project for NHS Sheffield, said: "People have told us that they want to have their healthcare as close to home as possible.

"With all current audiology services offered at hospital, we have identified an opportunity to make changes to allow patients to have their appointments at more convenient locations for them, with improved access.

"We want to hear from people about where and when they would like these services to be on offer and about what would make appointments as convenient as possible for them."
