Views sought over parking limits

People are being asked what they think about proposals to introduce waiting restrictions along part of Keighley Road in Hebden Bridge.

Calderdale Council has drawn up the proposals following complaints of congestion caused by parked cars, particularly between the White Lion Inn and the traffic lights at Nutclough.

A drop-in meeting where people can see a plan and speak to a traffic engineer will be held at the Town Hall in Hebden Bridge on June 20 between 6pm and 6.45pm.

Calderdale Council’s leader Councillor Janet Battye said: “We need to create room for larger vehicles to pass with ease. At the same time, we need to recognise the need for all-day parking on the outskirts of the town centre for people who work in Hebden Bridge. So we need to get the views of everyone concerned before making a decision.”

People who cannot attend the meeting but have questions should contact Calderdale Council’s traffic engineer, Haydn Vernals, on 01422 392991 or e-mail: [email protected] before Thursday, June 30, or write to the Highways Office, Huddersfield Road, Elland, HX5 9JR before July 11.
