Vinyl record collection goes under the hammer

Record collectors are set to get into a spin after an avid music collector’s treasured vinyls are set to go under the hammer.

Music fan Peter Ibbotson racked up a collection of 8,000 vinyl records and CDs.

Every room of his terraced house in Castleford, West Yorkshire, was covered in records and he even had his pantry specially adapted to house the collection.

Following the former pit worker’s early death aged just 54 his treasured musical collection is now set to go under the hammer. Auctioneer Dion Harrison is seen with some of the records. Mr Ibbotson was known locally for his extensive musical library and for his broad knowledge of bands and trivia.
