The VIP brewery tour, complete with helicopter ride, is yours for just £50,000

WHAT could well be the world’s most expensive brewery tour has been set up and running in Yorkshire, and it’s a snip at a mere £50,000.

As well as some lucky beer nuts the fee entitles you to a helicopter ride to Cropton Brewery near Kirbymoorside and will buy the purchaser a tour
of the site, plus 1,000 bottles of their favourite tipple to take home.

Eight lucky people will be picked up and flown in style to the brewery, where they will take over the premises for a day before leaving, laden down with their beer which will be bottled and labelled exclusively for them.

The Great Yorkshire Brewery has teamed up with FlyMeNow, the North Yorkshire-based jet and helicopter Charter Company, to launch the luxurious tour.

Andrew Whitney, commercial director of FlyMeNow, said: “These beer connoisseurs will have a full tour of the brewery and each one will have the chance to get involved with all parts of the beer making process, from mashing in to adding the hops. After an indulgent lunch in the brewery’s very own country pub, The New Inn, the group will receive a tasting session of all the beers, ales and lagers available from the brewery.

“Come Christmas Day, along with the usual pair of socks and the essential comedy DVD, one lucky person will receive their exclusive itinerary for this amazing experience.”

Interest has already been generated in the tour which, was dreamed up over a few pints when it was realised the brewery’s new turning circle could double as a helipad as well as being used to turn delivery trucks around in their yard.

Joanne Taylor, director of The Great Yorkshire Brewery, admitted it was expensive.

She said: “With a price tag of £49,995 the experience is not for the faint-hearted, but if you want to treat your nearest and dearest to a present they will never forget, this is the perfect solution.”
