Virgin tables plans for flights to Las Vegas

FLIGHTS from Manchester to Las Vegas are set to resume next April when Virgin Atlantic introduces a twice-weekly service, using Boeing 747 jumbo jets.

Virgin already flies to Las Vegas from London's Gatwick Airport.

Virgin's chief executive Steve Ridgway said: "The decision to expand our Manchester flying programme underlines our commitment to flying to long-haul destinations from regional airports in the UK and these Manchester flights will be a great addition to our current services."

The route was previously operated by bmi, but abandoned when it moved its long-haul routes to Heathrow.
