Visitor numbers are roaring ahead at park

Visitor numbers at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park are set to top 400,000 this year.

The news comes as a new primate exhibition as unveiled at the Doncaster attraction.

Caroline Flint, the area’s MP, said: “The investment at the park has been incredible, not least the Monkey Play House, where the play area is joined to the baboon enclosure by a glass screen. No wonder this park is set to top 400,000 visitors this year.

“The growth in visitors is extraordinary, given the appalling weather so far this year – but the park is fortunate in having lots of places of refuge indoors, when the showers come.

“I was hugely impressed by the facilities for school groups – no wonder over 33,000 school children visited last year. “

Joint managing director, Cheryl Williams: “We are very pleased that YWP is going from strength to strength and is now one of the top Yorkshire attractions – which is due to the amazing support that we have had from the people of Doncaster.”
