Volunteers getting ready early for spring Dales trek challenge

Trailtrekker is one of several 100km sponsored walks which Oxfam organises around the world each year.

Starting and finishing in Skipton, the 62-mile circuit takes in some of the Dales’s finest landscapes and highest peaks.

The charity is still looking for teams to sign up for the 2012 event, which begins at 7am on Saturday May 26.

Participants must enter in teams of four and pledge to raise at least £1,400.

The walk takes up to 30 hours to complete, and each team will need a ‘support group’ in a car to meet the walkers at checkpoints and provide them with much-needed sustenance and fresh clothing.

Teams not able to complete the full 100km course can sign up instead for a 40km ‘bronze’ challenge or 65km ‘silver’ walk.

Anyone interested in taking part should visit www.oxfam.org.uk/Trailtrekker.
