Volunteers launch school garden project

Volunteers are creating a new sustainable garden for a Leeds primary school.

Pictured are, from left, Emma Riley, Daniel Hallett and Chris Sharpe in the new garden at Manston Primary School, in Crossgates, Leeds, after the visit by the Yorkshire Water volunteers. They built a sensory path leading to an existing vegetable garden and set large raised planting beds next to it, where pupils will grow a range of herbs and other plants.

They also laid the foundations for a poly-tunnel, which the team will return to install in December. The firm's One Million Green Fingers campaign has sent volunteers to help create hundreds of sustainable gardens in primary schools across the region.
