Volunteers wanted for waterfront

PEOPLE are being urged to come forward and get involved with next year’s Leeds Waterfront Festival.

The fifth annual Leeds Waterfront Festival and dragon boat racing spectacle will take place next year on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1.

It will bring live music, food and drink, dance and arts to the Leeds waterfront as well as the spectacle of the 40ft dragon boats complete with 16 paddlers, a drummer, and all in technicolour fancy dress.

The Dragon Boat Racing sees some of Leeds’ biggest employers taking to the water to raise money for Leeds based community initiatives. For more information contact Amanda Bennett by emailing amanda@leedscommunityfoundation.org.uk or by calling 0113 242 2426.

Requests are also being made for local people or organisations to get involved in the waterfront festival. Businesses can host an event, provide customer offers and promotions, sponsor stages or sites or even volunteer over the festival weekend.
