‘Wakey Riot’ Facebook girl to stand trial

A 19-YEAR-OLD woman from Wakefield will go on trial later this month for allegedly posting Facebook messages encouraging rioting.

Hollie Bentley was arrested after she allegedly posted messages on the social networking site on August 9.

She appeared at Leeds Crown Court today and pleaded not guilty to creating an event - “Wakey Riot” - on Facebook intending to encourage violent disorder.

The Recorder of Leeds, Judge Peter Collier, gave her unconditional bail and told her she will go on trial on November 28.

The judge said the trial will last for one day.
