War games at touch of a button

Video gamers of all ages descended on the Royal Armouries in Leeds this weekend for the first-ever War Games event.

Highlights included the Leeds preview of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed III, prior to its general release in October – plus a hands-on introduction to building your own war game.

Gamers were also able see museum displays featuring props and characters from favourite games – and the chance to build, play, explore, meet the experts and have a go.

War Games is the second of three themed weekends at the museum this summer and follows the highly-successful Robots event earlier this month. It will be followed
by Tournament Jousting on August 25, 26
and 27.

Events run from 10am to 5pm on all three days, and museum admission is free.
