Warm reception for X Factor finalists

HUNDREDS of cheering teenage girls braved the freezing temperatures yesterday to meet X Factor finalists One Direction (left to right, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik) at HMV Bradford for a signing session.

Now down to the final week in X Factor 2010, One Direction are the last remaining group – mentored by Simon Cowell – and will be competing against the other finalists Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson and Cher Lloyd.

On Sunday Bradford's X Factor hopeful Zayn Malik was delighted after overcoming a difficult week to sail on through to the final of the competition.

Zayn, 17, of East Bowling, one-fifth of boyband One Direction, was jumping for joy after the band was named as one of the finalists on the hit ITV show.

The band seemed to have brushed off problems earlier in the week, which included Zayn missing a secret gig owing to a personal matter as they performed on Saturday night.

The group has attracted a legion of admiring female fans since being formed on the show.
