Sir Leonard Hutton, Herbert Sutcliffe and Bill Bowes will be among those featured in footage from films stored in the vaults of the Yorkshire Film Archive.

Childhood memories of cricket on the beach, packed matches at Scarborough, fathers versus daughters matches at Hunmanby Hall Girls’ School after the war, England’s ill-fated tour of Australia in 1958 and an interview with Yorkshire captain Brian Close in 1964 will be among the highlights.

The film will be shown in the East Stand long room at Headingley cricket ground on Sunday at 7pm. Tickets priced £5 can be bought on the door.
