Watch the birdy as all eyes focus on the peacock

When you share your home with hundreds of rabbits, dozens of guinea pigs, seven miniature horses and an alsatian dog, sometimes it's worth knowing how to stand out a bit.

Photographed at Bunnyland, near Whitby, the peacock spreads its distinctive train as it tries to attract the attention of a female.

However, at the North Yorkshire tourist attraction, the peacock is not guaranteed an audience. The growing menagerie recently welcomed a new addition – seven palomino horses, all less than two feet small, and its new owners are not planning to stop there.

Carol and Karl Wragg recently bought the site from its founder, Jude Mede, who started Bunnyland 30 years ago after a Dutch rabbit called Skippy she had been given as a present had five babies.

Deciding she would create an attraction where her pets could live happily and be admired by the public, Jude bought Golden Hall Farm at auction and turned her dream into a reality.

The Wraggs may have only just escaped to the country from their terraced home in Sheffield, but they already have grand plans.

Tiny stables for the horses are being built, and having bought four gipsy caravans for those who want a little luxury when they camp, the couple soon hope to add yurts and teepees to the site.
