This morning (July 11) drivers faced rush hour chaos on several routes into Leeds after an accident on the inner ring road.

Traffic was queuing traffic on the A58(M) Westgate Tunnel eastbound in Leeds after Park Lane, because of an accident earlier on.

All lanes were later re-opened but congestion had already spread outwards to the A58 Whitehall Road to the A6110 Ring Road Low Wortley junction, on the A647 Stanningley Road to the Armley Ridge Road junction, on Eastbound M621 to Beeston and on the eastbound A65 Kirkstall Road to the Willow Road junction.

Many drivers reported double the usual journey times as the chaos continued.
