Overturned cattle trailer shuts A1 in North Yorkshire
AN accident has closed the A1 in North Yorkshire, in both directions.
The road was closed near Scotch Corner after a Land Rover towing a trailer overturned on the northbound carriageway at around 1pm on Wednesday.
Vehicle recovery services are at the scene of the incident to remove the Land Rover and the trailer from the carriageway. A vet has also arrived to check if any cattle in the trailer have been injured.
The driver of the Land Rover was not injured in the incident.
Police have advised motorists are advised to avoid the area.
