Rush-hour chaos on London, Ilkley, Shipley and Skipton trains

Trains on the east coast main line between Peterborough and Doncaster were being delayed by up to 90 minutes because of what Network rail described as “a signalling problem”.

Services on East Coast, First Hull Trains and Grand Central were all affected.

And in the Shipley area of West Yorkshire, Northern rail halted services because of “a trespass incident”. Trains between Leeds, Bradford Forster Square, and Ilkley were cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes.
