Traffic chaos as M1 closed in South Yorkshire
THE M1 motorway in South Yorkshire is closed northbound this afternoon following a serious accident, with traffic chaos across the county.
Police initially closed the road in both directions, causing standing traffic between Junction 37 with the A628 at Dodworth, and Junction 38 with the A637 at Woolley.
The southbound carriageway has now reopened but the road northwards is expected to remain blocked throughout the evening.
