A 20-year-old man is attempting to lay claim to a new record - by building the biggest snowman in Yorkshire.

The snowman built in Yorkshire which Jack is hoping is a new record holder

Jack Wilkinson, who lives in Sicklinghall, built this 13.2ft snowman in his village.

After building three 8-foot snowman yesterday, Jack decided he was going to attempt Yorkshire's biggest snowman yet.

Jack took aim at a 10ft record set elsewhere in Yorkshire.Jack said: “Having built 3 snowmen yesterday, every other person who walked or drove by stopped and look at them, it made their day. Putting a smile on people’s faces in this tough time was my main aim.

“Built in my village, Sicklinghall the snowman is 13.2 foot high, wearing his Harrogate Town jacket who I support. The snowman took 3 hours to build but worth every minute!”

“If the snow continues, which I hope it does, I’ll be aiming for 15 feet, but who knows.”
