Website to help lonely

A LEEDS woman is extending the hand of friendship to make sure people who are facing Christmas on their own have somewhere to go.

Techno-savvy Sarah Carmody set up a website to encourage residents make an extra space at their tables on Christmas Day.

Her newly launched website Lonely At Christmas aims to pair up people who will be on their own with those who are opening up their homes over the festive season.

She said: “Christmas is portrayed as a time for families, friends and loved ones to come together and celebrate the festive season.”
