Wedding 'spectacle' delights pair

KNIGHTS in armour stole the show as bride Laura Vincent married Adam Ali-Qazalbash in the first civil wedding to be held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds took place at the weekend.

The 29-year-old care assistant from Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, arrived at the Armouries in an open-topped vintage car to a red carpet reception and exchanged vows with Mr Ali-Qazalbash, a call centre manager, in the Royal Armouries Hall.

The couple posed for photographs while 100 guests enjoyed champagne and canaps in the tournament gallery where knights in armour put on a stunning display for their entertainment.

They then all filed through to the wedding reception in the Wellington Suite to enjoy a wedding banquet, complete with ice carved table decorations.

Mr Ali-Qazalbash said: "The whole day was magnificent.

"The surroundings and the spectacle made it all the more of an occasion."
